To teach and develop young people sailing and seamanship in a safe, fun and structured environment. CHYS sailors will develop and demonstrate respect for others as well as the environment, and always be willing to lend a helping hand to others on and off the water. The goal is to develop skilled and confident young people who will be a lifelong credit to the community.

Summer Camps

We offer week long full day Summer Sailing Camps. The Campers start at 8:30 AM and end at 3:30 PM. Two series of camps are offered. One series before the 4th of July break and one after. Each series starts with Beginner Camps and ends with Intermediate or Advanced Camps. An Advanced Sailing Camp and mini-regatta ends the Summer Camp season. Register online:

Saturday Advanced Sailing Program

CHYS offers an Advanced Sailing Program, registrations, weather and instructor availability during the school year. Participants must have successfully completed a CHYS Summer Sailing Camp or have a US Sailing small boat certification from a US Sailing certified school/center. The focus is on perfecting sailing skills, racing rules and tactics. "Adventure Sails" are part of this program.

Adventure Sailing

CHYS focuses on Safety, Seamanship, Sportsmanship and the Racing Rules of Sailing in a fun environment. A big part of the fun are the "Adventure Sails." During Intermediate/Advanced Summer Camps, the kids may do a Destination Sail across the Peace River to the Fishermen's Village or Laishley Marina ice cream shops.

Charlotte Harbor Youth Sailing
Registration will soon open for Summer 2026 Sailing Camps. CHYS is offering one week long, full day (8:30 AM to 3:30 PM) programs. The registration fee during the last weeks prior to each camp is $300. Sign-up early for "Early Bird" pricing and to assure a place for your child this summer. The tentative schedule is as follows:

The type of camps will be for Beginers, Intermediate, and Advanced Sailing. Stay tuned for the camp asignments.


Campers successfully completing any of these camps and have reached their 10th birthday by September 1 are eligible to join the CHYS year-round Saturday Sailing Program
(10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, weather permitting, excluding holidays). CHYS will accept registrations from young sailors who have successfully completed any US Sailing certified sail training program. The fee for Saturday sailing is $35.
